The movie was directed by Stephen Hopkins who captured the character of Jesse Owens and accurately revealing the athletes conflicts and hopes throughout the movie. The movie showed Jesse’s heart and the fight in him to make a difference, and help his family. Nelle Harper Lee is most recognizable for her novel To Kill a Mockingbird and her endless contributions to the world of American Literature. This novel became a classic of American Literature and is taught every year in classrooms around the world. Published in 1960, it was quick to earn the 1961 Pulitzer Prize, and became a book that would have a lasting impact for years to come.
Lee passed away on Feb. 19, 2016 at the age of 89. She passed away in her sleep, and has left the world mourning one of the greatest. . . |
