REVHS Wildcat Tennis Shows Its Strength

REV Girls’ Tennis team kicked off their three-month long season on Tuesday Sept. 6, against one of REV’s cross-town rivals, Yucaipa High School. REV battled on their home courts against the team that took the championship title out of the eight teams in the Citrus Belt League last season, and the REV girls played as hard as they trained for. The final score was 7-11 in the latter’s favor. One of REV’s senior captains, Breanna Blackey, told Ethic, “Well, the team (REV) did a lot better than previous seasons. We fought hard and we’ll come back even stronger the next time we play Yucaipa.” The tennis team will play each school twice in the season, for a total of fourteen matches... The Girl’s REV Golf Team is off to a great start this season. Having a little under double the players than they did last year, the girls is not only set for this season, but also for the seasons to come. Coached by Sam Patalano, the team came into a solid second place last year and four of their girls made CBL. This season, with strong returners and a group of newcomers, the REV Golf team is looking at a bright season ahead. The season was made even brighter by starting off with a huge win... |

Saturday, September 3rd; it’s seven A.M., and the Redlands East Valley cross country team is huddled around the tent, lacing the chip timers into their shoes and mentally going over the three-mile race that lies ahead. This race, a run that leads racers around and across Colton High School, marks the beginning of the cross country season, being the first invitational of the year, and the first time this year’s team will run against another team. The team’s been training hard ever since the year began - and some even earlier - and they’re anxious to run their races. The first race - freshman girls - comes and goes with a few mishaps but otherwise good results. As the day goes on, REV racks up strong wins from Samantha Aguilar (senior), Elias Opsahl (junior), and Matt Casillas (freshman). “The race was fun and exciting and I'm looking forward to all the races to come,” says Cole Cooper (freshman)... |
