The Kimberly Juniors Association was formed 100 years ago under the leadership of Mrs. Helen Cheney Kimberly. She sought to provide young high school aged girls of Redlands with the skills required to survive in higher class society. These skills include parliamentary procedure, etiquette , public speaking, and dance performance. Citrus Valley Comedy Sportz Hosts First Home Match Versus REV

On Friday, Sept. 16 supporters of both Citrus Valley High and Redlands East Valley High School’s Comedy Sportz teams gathered in the Blackhawk Theater for Citrus’ first home match of the 2016-17 school year. Comedy Sportz is competitive improvisation where two teams fight for an audience’s laughter and applause in order to win.
The lights in the theater dimmed as “Mr. Voice”, the commentator of Comedy Sportz matches, welcomed the audience to the night’s match. Both teams in the 7:00 pm Junior Varsity match were Citrus teams...

REV Club Week Attracts New MembersBy JOHNNA VICKERY
This past week, Sept. 19 to 22, at Redlands East Valley High School, the various clubs competed for valuable membership positions. Booths were set up all throughout the quad awaiting student interest. Each booth carried helpful information pertaining to their mission statement as long as sign up sheets and meeting times. A majority of booths arranged for a food sale on Thursday, which had been a big hit for drawing student attention each year prior. These clubs varied from the creativity base Art Club, to the more academic Speech and Debate booth, to even more political options at the Young Republican booth. With the large variety of clubs available, every student had, and still has, the ability to find a perfect fit for them. As expected, the fair raised a large amount of attention for these and many other groups on campus across the span of the week... |

The business teacher, Scott Raine, of the Citrus Valley High Student Store gave information on the background of the store
How long has the student store been around? Raine: “Our student store has been open since 2009.” How is what they sell different from when they opened? Raine: “When we opened the nutrition laws weren't as stringent as they are now. We used to be able to sell fresh doughnuts, soft drinks, grab and go items, without having to worry about the calorie intake or sugars associated with the product.” What is the owner’s name that operates the student store? Raine: “Mr. Raine runs the student store. He teaches the Online Business and Fashion Merchandising courses at CVHS.” |

REV’s Student Store has been available to all students attending since 1997. Over the years, students have shown a last minute need for different materials such as notebooks, clothes, and of course food. Well, the student store has proven to listen to those needs and provide its students with a good quality of necessities. Not only does the Student Store now provide snacks and a selection of clothing but it also has school supplies, such as notebooks and flashcards. On day one of each school year, the Student Store is open and ready to provide its students with their P.E clothes. With nutrition laws now intact, the Student Store ensures healthy meals and snacks for all its customers... |
