Citrus Valley High School Blackhawk Baseball took home a double win this week against Carter High School. Starting the week with a win of 2 to 1, they increase their chances of moving onto CBL. With their last and most recent game against Carter high school, they were able to take home a win of 4-1. The winning hit went to Citrus Senior Austin Warner, and they are now moving forward into CBL. They are ending their league standings with 8 wins and 0 losses and 15 wins and 4 losses overall. Citrus’ Blackhawk Baseball Team hopes to keep moving forward with more wins against their next rivals. |

On Tuesday April 11, the freshmen and Junior Varsity basketball players of Redlands East Valley and their coaches gathered to honor yet another successful season. All freshmen players arrived with their white team polos and all Jv players arrived with a mix of black and red. The coaches organized a potluck which included a variety of foods and the parents and players all listened as each coach gave their speech to their team and acknowledged other specific players in honor of their extra dedication and hard work to the team... Armando Herrera and Emily Rigsby were awarded Athlete of the Year by Mr. Kurt Bruich and Mrs. Rhonda Fouch. The Athlete of the Year is two seniors one boy and one girl that was nominated to be Athlete of the Year. Armando Herrera was awarded Boys Athlete of the Year by Mr. Kurt Bruich (boys’ athletic director) at the 2017 Spring rally. Also Emily Rigsby got awarded Girls Athlete of the Year by Mrs. Rhonda Fouch (girls’ athletic director). Armando Herrera is rank 82 in the state for football. His stats for the 16-17 year are really high than the national average. His total yards is 3369. He had 34 touchdown passes. Yards per game was 280.8. Herrera’s completion percentage is 224.
